Letter to the editor: Another Trump presidency not the answer
In his letter “Has Pelosi read Constitution?” (Oct. 27, TribLIVE), David A. Scandrol criticizes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the Jan. 6 commission’s investigation of the Capitol riot. “Who shows up for a coup d’état but fails to bring weapons?” he asks. I’d like to know what Scandrol was actually watching if he says there were no weapons.
I’m guessing he is a Donald Trump worshipper who believes in Trump’s “big lie” that the election was rigged, and that the riot was a peaceful protest.
No matter where you stand politically, any sensible and true American believes that Trump deserved to be impeached. I truly can’t believe how in denial and gullible many people are to continue to support a tyrant who encouraged an attack on his own country, government and democracy, as well as undermining our election system.
Trump’s presidency tore this country apart in so many ways. Those who continue to support him pledge their allegiance to him, not the United States of America.
If you don’t like President Biden, so be it. That’s your privilege. But another Trump presidency is surely not the answer. It would destroy our country. I’ll stand by Biden any day over Trump. And again, if you don’t like Biden, you have Trump to thank and blame: It is Trump’s fault that Biden is president.
May God bless President Biden and the United States of America.
