Letter to the editor: Anthem is for all Americans

Enough already. First it was stopping the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag in some schools, then looting and burning neighborhood buildings and businesses, then changing state flags, team logos, park names and taking down statues that have stood for decades. Now all a sudden our national anthem is no longer good enough.

The national anthem is for all Americans and should continue to be so. Having two anthems played before games is ridiculous and only to appease. Now suddenly allowing players to wear things on their uniforms is allowed when before you couldn’t even wear a Nike logo.

Finally, making students take diversity courses in college — that should be their personal choice, just like the pledge to the flag, not a requirement.

I guess next will be the burning of all history books, libraries, maybe even the museums that contain the history of our country.

Enough already! All lives matter, not just yours or mine. History is exactly that, history, and destroying things is not going to change it. If you really want to change things, start with today, not yesterday.
