Letter-writer Courtney Hodge (“Atheism & politics,” Nov. 16, TribLIVE), a self-described atheist, wrote that “We live in the information age, and the more you know, the less religious you become.”

Well, at long last I’ve found the one person who is so intelligent that she can answer a question that has bothered me all my life: What is outside of our solar system? Where does it all end and what’s outside of that? It all has to end somewhere, but it can’t, but it has to, but it can’t, etc. Until I get a good answer to this question, I will never be an atheist.

Hodge states that she is an American and therefore has the right to freely express her opinions. As a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran who pays the price for that freedom every single day and night, I am glad she appreciates her country and the freedoms we have. But I wonder what she has done to help secure our freedom?
