I keep hearing “lives matter,” and “we need to protect lives,” which are completely true sentiments. No matter how you talk about this issue, someone will absolutely be upset, but here’s the thing: Daily during the virus, babies’ lives didn’t seem to matter. The governor of Pennsylvania did not shut down Planned Parenthood, but shut down multiple businesses that could provide food on the table for families.

If lives matter, we need to start respecting them from the beginning of life, and not just be outraged by just some lives dying. Every individual life matters. Women who go to these clinics are risking their health and potentially getting themselves exposed to the virus from the clinic workers or risking the lives of the clinic workers.

In an age of essential workers, I don’t believe abortions are a necessity. People were not able to have surgeries done at one point during this virus. People weren’t able to go to nursing homes or hospitals to see their loved ones, but we still were fine with Planned Parenthood employees working and potentially exposing themselves to the virus.

Lives matter, no matter what color, what sex, what belief, what age.
