I’ve had a long and unique perspective of even-handed justice at the local level. I served as a police officer for four years in Brackenridge and 22 years with the Tarentum Police Department.

I may not have prevailed in every case before Judge Carolyn Bengel, but I certainly learned and respected her command of the courtroom and commitment to doing what was best for all involved. After always listening intently, she handed down decisions that were not merely based upon the letter of the law but were often considerate of logic and the spirit of the law, where minor infractions were resolved with compromise and positive resolutions.

There is only one viable choice for district judge int he Highlands/East Deer area, and that is Bengel. She has the expertise and temperament, and 30 years of learned courtroom understanding. There really is no comparison to her for fair and sensible justice. There’s only one judge in this race, and befittingly, there is no substitute for her exceptional experience.
