The book vigilantes of the Hempfield Area School District missed one book that might expose their children to all sorts of sinful behavior. Perhaps they haven’t studied it thoroughly and don’t realize how much really shocking behavior it details. Subjects like adultery, incest, slavery, murder, infanticide and homosexuality appear frequently along with admonitions to love one’s neighbors, be forgiving, welcome immigrants and other suspicious do goodisms.

This suspect book is called the Holy Bible. Based on the vigilantes’ criteria, it should certainly be banned, too, along with almost all of Shakespeare’s plays (not just “Hamlet”).
