In answer to Patty Satalia’s letter “Republicans are not planning for our well-being” (Dec. 20, TribLIVE): This is a much better thing than the Democrats have.

When President Trump left office, the national average for a gallon of gas was $2.39. Meat was selling at a fair price. Today you have to mortgage your house to buy meat. Inflation is sky high.

Satalia wants gun violence stopped. You do that by making examples of people who misuse guns. I say anyone who misuses a gun should not be able to get bailed out and should have a trial and sentencing within three months instead of waiting years for a trial.

She says “The U.S. now ranks the worst we have ranked among nations since World War II in political freedom, obesity, gun violence, public education, upward mobility, infrastructure, health care and, sadly, much more.” Does she know what is happening in Venezuela with socialism?

As for Biden’s plan, why are homes costing so much more than what they cost under Trump? Gas prices are way up under Biden. Biden is spending a billionaire’s fortune on climate change.

I think Satalia watches too much propaganda in the media. She should go beyond that garbage.
