Letter to the editor: Biden derelict in his duties
On Jan. 20, 2021, Joe Biden spoke the following words inscribed in the body of the Constitution; “ I, Joseph R. Biden Jr., do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
To willfully refuse to faithfully execute the powers of the presidency to the best of his abilities is a dereliction of duties that unto itself is a violation of the Constitution since the oath is in the body of the Constitution.
A willful dereliction of constitutional duties is an impeachable offense. Case in point: Biden’s executive order to forgive student loans after the U.S. Supreme Court had already ruled that it is unconstitutional for the president to unilaterally make funding decisions when the power of the purse lies exclusively with the House of Representatives. Yet he continues to ignore the checks on his power and dictates his pitch to his favored constituents. As a result of Biden’s efforts to undo private financial contracts, some student loan holders are not making payments on their loans and they will most likely vote for him in November.
When these offenses are added to his border policies and the weaponization of the bureaucracy, particularly the FBI spying on pro-life Catholics and gun owners, it is becoming evident that Biden has become a rogue dictator who must be removed from office.
God save the republic.
