After his inauguration, President Biden told us we were a nation at war, and in order to win, we must unify the country and implement his strategic plan to defeat the enemy, covid-19. He then proceeded to (partial listing): stop the Keystone XL pipeline; weaken our border security; stop deporting illegals; reduce drilling and fracking; stop building the border wall; increase immigration quotas; allow transgender Americans in the military; permit transgender females to compete in female sports; and lift the ban on U.S. foreign aid being used to perform or promote abortions.

These actions did not in any way unify or prepare us to battle the virus. His strategic plan to win the battle seems to be wear a mask(s), maintain social distance, wash hands, avoid large gatherings, increase testing, do contact tracing and get vaccinated, which was pretty much what we were supposed to be doing all along.

Distribution of the vaccine seems a problem which was blamed on the prior administration for leaving none on hand, which was false. All of this while legislative relief from the effects of the virus to those who critically need it floundered in a bureaucratic mess by a party in full control of legislative and executive branches.

I’m getting a clearer picture of what Sen. Chuck Schumer meant when he said, “Now we take Georgia, then we change the world.” I dread to see what’s coming down the pike.
