Letter to the editor: Biden is no visionary

The writer of the letter “Flags fly in support of Biden” (Sept. 24, TribLIVE) speaks of President Biden’s greatness and vision. Well, let’s look at the facts.

• In 2022, Biden permitted the largest undocumented immigrant crossing in our country’s history, 2.4 million, and with them came disease, crime and exorbitant cost to the taxpayers. The Democratic mayor of New York City said the influx of immigrants will destroy the city, which is being echoed by other sanctuary cities.

• Biden’s vision on health care is trying to make Obamacare — which is still broken — work.

• His first nine months in office added $1.4 trillion added to our national debt.

• His mental capacity is now being questioned by some in his own party; he is plagued with gaffes and blunders.

• The Afghanistan fiasco with loss of life and billions of military equipment speaks for itself.

• Three of the four worst bank failures in history happened under his watch.

• His foreign policy is an embarrassment.

• He has an approval rating of 41%.

• Twice he has sold off our country’s petroleum reserves.

A man is only as good as his word, and I fly my flag for our country, what it stands for and its heroes. It would be delusional at best to believe Joe Biden is great, much less a visionary.
