Letter to the editor: Biden racking up dismal record

Numerous times, candidate Joe Biden stated that because of his long tenure in the Senate, he would be most uniquely qualified as president to reach across the aisle with his agenda, bring Republicans to the table and get bipartisan legislation passed that would unify the country and benefit all Americans. The keys, he said, would be negotiation and compromise, two tactics he claimed proficiency in. The “art of the deal,” so to speak.

Who would have imagined that despite control of both houses of Congress as well as the executive branch, Biden’s landmark “Build Back Better” legislation would be mired in a negotiating and compromising frenzy within his own party, no Republicans in sight.

As of the date of this writing, the bill, much to the dismay of the president, remains a work in progress. Be that as it may, as Bill Parcells, Hall of Fame NFL coach, said, “You are what your record says you are.” Based on his first 10 months in office, Biden’s record has been an unarguably dismal one.
