Letter to the editor: Biden's border disaster

Of the many disasters this nation is facing because of the Biden/Harris administration’s incompetence, the disaster at the southern border is the most glaring and dangerous. In President Biden’s first three years in office, over 8 million illegal immigrants have been allowed to invade our nation. These include millions of unvetted military-age men from around the world, many from nations openly hostile to the United States and associated with terrorist activities. This poses a major national security threat.

The Republican Congress has an opportunity with pending legislation to insist on Trump-era border security measures, which worked, including a completed southern border wall, reinstating the remain-in-Mexico asylum policy, ending “catch and release” and eliminating all benefits for illegal immigrants in the country before they authorize any further aid to Ukraine.

We could end up with a secure southern border if the Republicans stand together and insist on a complete border security package as a condition of any further Ukraine aid.
