Letter to the editor: Border, not abortion, is top issue

Since the New Hampshire primary, which indicated that the No. 1 issue for those interviewed was the border, I have seen and heard the talking heads in the mainstream media telling us that, in reality, the main issue of Americans for the coming election is abortion. Really?

With hundreds of thousands of unknown individuals coming across our southern border every month; with hostility for the U.S. coming from nations that may like to provide us with multiple 9/11-like scenarios; with towns being overrun (some call it an invasion) and unable to keep up with the demands of this influx; all of this, and the major issue will be abortion?

I cannot believe that a major party in the U.S. is attaching its success to the killing of unborn babies. If that is true, it is an indication of how far we have fallen as a nation. Think of all the possible Einsteins and Graham-Bells and other major contributors that have been and will be exterminated before they can contribute to our society.

We should not want to play God with life. If we are “inconvenienced” by a pregnancy, there are other avenues than abortion. God help us all.
