I would like to comment on a dangerous condition for some residents living in Brighton Heights. I grew up in this area and lived there for over 30 years. It was always a nice area, but after marrying, I moved away.
I was amazed to see residents of McClure Avenue talking on a recent news report about their neighborhood being run over by rats coming from two vacant homes. These taxpaying citizens are trying to trap the rats. When they notified Mayor Bill Peduto’s office about this health hazard, they were gold it could take six to eight weeks before the city could look into the problem. Really?
One thing I can be sure of, if some kind of problem occurred in Peduto’s pet project, the bike lanes, he would personally be there the next morning to take care of the problem with the news media at his side.
Mr. Mayor, this health problem needs to be addressed yesterday, not six to eight weeks from now. I noticed one of the residents is on oxygen. He needs help now.
