Letter to the editor: Bring back the Pitt-Penn State rivalry
2027 is the time for the return of the annual Pitt-Penn State football game, either the first or last weekend of the season — the best “rivalry weeks”: Sept. 11, 2027, or Nov. 27, 2027, in State College and Sept. 2, 2028, or Nov. 25, 2038, in Pittsburgh.
The players and coaches, alumni and students, and fans and TV networks will all love it, not to mention a few sports reporters.
From 1893 to 2019:
• 100 games in 127 years
• Penn State 53 wins
• Pitt 43 wins
• Four ties
