Regarding Joe Napsha’s article “Forbes Road residents shocked gobbler ‘Butterball’ shot by game warden” (Jan. 16, TribLIVE): This was senseless. All because a few people were inconvenienced going to the post office. Please! Shame on those whiners. The level of dislike for things we find inconvenient is off the charts.

Before anyone starts the chatter, I realize that 2020 was a terrible and difficult year in so many ways for everyone. This creature, Butterball, brought joy to some people that was most needed right now.

I know it was only a turkey to most, but what did it do but want to live to be a free old turkey, so to speak? No pun intended!

The game warden claims he was only doing his job. Frankly, he should be ashamed of himself to have taken a healthy animal’s life, and so should this state.

With all of the social challenges facing our country, our world today worrying about a roaming turkey should be the least of them.
