Once again, the liberal, Democratic, progressive ideologies-driven administrations in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County have given a free pass to the rioters, looters, fire-starters and property destroyers by dropping charges filed against them because they don’t have suitable evidence to conduct preliminary investigations (“DA’s office drops charges filed against 39 Pittsburgh protesters,” June 8, TribLIVE). Really!

In October, Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. spent about $1.5 million for a 1,000-camera surveillance network that spans five counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania. It seems no one is utilizing these expensive and lately discovered hackable devices, especially in the City of Pittsburgh.

Mayor Bill Peduto and Mr. Zappala, if you and your offices are not going to watch and discern from these videos, then maybe they should be disbanded or removed and the money redistributed back to the counties affected. Those were tax dollars used for that purchase, and many wonder why. Maybe the cameras just need dusted off for better resolution. Just saying.
