A few weeks ago, I was proud to announce that Pennsylvania secured $132 million to make critical repairs to the McKees Rocks, Fort Duquesne and West End bridges. These bridges are essential to drivers of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania’s economy, helping to connect Pennsylvanians to one another and making sure people can get to work and school. Having the funding to make repairs will ensure our economy remains strong.

But the funding for these projects might have never been announced if it wasn’t for the work of U.S. Sen. Bob Casey. A significant amount of the funding is coming from the bipartisan infrastructure law, which Casey supported and voted to pass. He’s been a tireless advocate for Pennsylvania in ensuring we receive our share of federal infrastructure funding from the law. Many of the big infrastructure projects we have announced — like this one — would not have been possible without Casey’s work steering federal investments toward Pennsylvania.

While announcing the funding for these projects, I also said it was yet another example of our “get stuff done” attitude. Casey is a Pennsylvania leader who undeniably epitomizes this attitude. He’s an effective lawmaker who’s delivering for Pennsylvania.
