For months our president has been warning of the mass exodus to our southern border. He used the word “invasion” and the liberals took it literally. Invasion can mean “an unwelcome intrusion into another’s domain,” like my home has been invaded by termites.

The Democrats turned it into a political mockery. A contingent of congressmen visited detention centers at the border and, after finding a TV camera and anyone who would listen, feigned horror at the overcrowding — when they themselves have the power to alleviate the conditions.

Jeh Johnson, who served as secretary of Homeland Security in the Obama administration, said in a recent interview that “we are truly in a crisis.”

The English Wesleyan minister William Lonsdale Watkinson once said that “denunciatory rhetoric is so much easier and cheaper than good works, and proves a popular temptation. Yet it is far better to light the candle than to curse the darkness.”

When will our politicians, for the sake of the country, start solving this problem instead of using young innocent children to accomplish their political agenda?
