Letter to the editor: China and coronavirus
Engaging in a game of Chinese checkers as a kid was fun. But as senior citizens, engaging in warfare with a deadly virus that started in China is life-threatening and disruptive.
It’s no surprise that China spies and lies, cheats and steals and wishes for our economy, the dollar and the stock market to weaken. Is it now using biological warfare to overtake America as a world power? We should trust China no further than we could throw a sumo wrestler.
What wouldn’t surprise us would be, as already suspected in some quarters, the revelation that China purposely concocted the highly contagious coronavirus, with no regard for Chinese people being used like laboratory mice to be infected and die — and then spread the virus to other countries, with America being the primary target to dastardly infect and disrupt.
We believe President Trump has been held at bay on criticizing China because of the expectation of a long-sought trade agreement that will also come as no surprise should the Chinese back out of the agreement.
The Chinese may well be reveling in what they conceive to be the coup de grace of America. Wrong. In our opinion, it was career politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, President Obama, et al. whose policies allowed China to put us in the position in which we now find ourselves.
Trump, the businessman leading our country, will again restore the prosperity to which we have become accustomed. God bless America and the world that has suffered immensely.
