Regarding the article “GOP commissioners reject defective mail-in ballots” (Nov. 13, TribLIVE): I would like to thank Republican commissioners Sean Kertes and Doug Chew, who have stood up for our commonwealth’s election laws.

Democrats seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of election laws, believing the campaigns aren’t over until enough ballots are found to ensure their favored candidates win, no matter how long that takes. As our U.S. Constitution enshrined, and as Republicans understand, Election Day is over at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. There is no such thing as election week or weeks, much to the dismay of the Democratic Party.

Gov. Tom Wolf, along with his secretary of state, aided by our kangaroo state Supreme Court, have done their very best to take the guardrails off of our election laws in order to favor Joe Biden. If the Democrats were so confident they won the election, then why are they fighting a signature audit of mail-in ballots so ferociously? By wanting to accept illegal ballots, Democrats are disenfranchising the 200,000 other voters in Westmoreland County who cast their ballots legally and before the deadline.

Standing against a storm of left-wing lunacy and mainstream media lies and distortions, Chew and Kertes have made the correct decision by following the law, and they should be applauded.
