Letter to the editor: Commissioners should be voted out over tax hike

Tribune-Review

Everybody is disgusted with our Westmoreland County commissioners. Their tax increase is ridiculous! This affects a lot of people on fixed incomes. When my husband and I make a purchase, we budget for it. I guess our commissioners just raise taxes.

When I filled out my tax rebate in February, I was thrilled. Our governor raised the amount you could earn to get a rebate and the amount you get back. We were pleased — $130 more than last year. The bubble broke when we received our taxes. They went up $160!

Thank you, commissioners. I’m sure their increase in salary will more than cover the increase in their taxes.

There’s one way to fix this. When they run again, vote every one of them out!
