I saw Gus Hall hand out communist literature at West Virginia University in 1972. He was general secretary of the Communist Party USA for many years and ran for president four times. He died in 2000, but he made a statement that is pertinent to what is happening in America 2020: “Socialism in America will come through the ballot box.”

Too bad for him he isn’t around to see the election of Joe Biden. For us it will be too bad, also.

My father became a prisoner of war at the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. He froze and starved for his country. He died in 2010 but made two statements that are pertinent to what is happening in America 2020:

1. “I don’t know why anybody would want to fight for this country anymore.”

2. “At least you” — referring to me — “ didn’t have to waste any of your life fighting in any stupid wars.”

Any World War II or vets from any other conflicts today think this?

Vote Trump.
