I listened to Congress citing constitutional violations and how they need to be addressed. I then looked at my copy of the Constitution and couldn’t get past the Bill of Rights. For those who have not had civics in school (since it is no longer required curriculum in some states), the first 10 amendments to the Constitution are considered the Bill of Rights and were defined as inalienable rights of the people of the United States of America.
I congratulate Congress on a truly bipartisan effort regarding this subject, because over the last 32 years (five administrations) there has been an erosion of our inalienable rights as citizens of the United States by Congress — if you look at these 10 amendments and consider laws that have been passed abridging them.
I can go no further since space and word count preclude a citing of specific instances of various infringements of the amendments. I am merely asking citizens to look at their rights and ask, “Just what is going on with Congress and the same adherence to constitutional violations that they are decrying?” Should they not be held accountable for passing laws that step all over the inalienable rights of the citizens?
