After reading the article “Rep. Conor Lamb jumps in race for Pat Toomey’s Senate seat” (Aug. 6, TribLIVE), I wished Lamb had clarified some of his statements. He says his opponents are determined to see him fail. What opponents? I assume he means elected Republicans; I’m not sure.

He states that his opponents are “making it harder to vote, harder for Black people and brown people and really anyone.” Just how do his opponents make it harder for all of these people to vote? Is he referring to voter ID rules? The Democratic Party generally opposes voter ID, while Republicans propose stronger voter ID in a bid to ensure honest elections.

In November’s Pennsylvania election, I don’t believe the ID verification process was strong enough for the millions of mail-in ballots cast. Surely Lamb is smart enough to understand that this can create doubt in honest citizens’ minds about the integrity of the Pennsylvania election victories of President Biden and even Lamb himself.
