Letter to the editor: Conservatives want only impartial hearings of evidence

Regarding your editorial “Don’t fall for a phony ‘forensic audit’ of 2020 election” (June 24, TribLIVE): The two major papers in the former USSR were Izvestia (The News) and Pravda (The Truth). Noncommunist readers concluded that in news there was no truth and in truth there was no news.

Conservatives only ask for an impartial hearing of the evidence, which falls upon deaf liberal ears. Unlike the Mueller investigation of President Trump’s alleged “Russian collusion” which reverberated in the news coverage every day for several years, cost taxpayers $32 million but found nothing. Two kangaroo impeachment trials followed. This despite Democrat Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell swearing to their liberal friends they had “actual evidence” but produced none.

Now, left-wing acts of violent resistance are termed by liberals and their media toadies as exercises in free speech, while conservative concerns about election integrity are “phony.”

The Trib and the rest of the media would best be focused upon unbiased, factual reporting and leave its readers to make the conclusions.
