Letter to the editor: Consider candidates' behavior when voting
I am blessed to be the father of three adult women. We used a logic tool to help us judge our speech. We used the letters T, K and N. Three questions: Is what I am about to say True, is it Kind, and is it Necessary? As a society we should adopt this tool.
When we consider your vote for president, please think of this tool. Our president should be a good example, especially when using the bully pulpit of the office.
President Trump does not care about speaking truth and certainly does not speak kindly, and very few of his posts are necessary. He continues to claim that the election was rigged and that there is voluminous and irrefutable evidence of that. But no actual proof has been made available. And, most troubling, when he should have spoken necessary words to calm the mob on Jan. 6, he was publicly silent and privately encouraging of the mob actions.
As you consider your voting options, please ask yourself — would I encourage my child to behave like this candidate for president? His endorsements in 2021 were failures. A primary vote for Trump will give us President Biden again.
