When it comes to political corruption, one basic fact always holds true: the cover-up is always worse than the crime.

We have seen a lot of criminal activity in Washington over the last four years. Any libel, slander and defaming that went on with the news media and in Congress are civil issues for the courts. Any leaks, perjury, spying or fraud that when on with the FISA courts and congressional hearings are issues for the criminal courts. Remember, denying rights “under the color of law” is a crime.

Corruption taking place during primary and federal elections, when state constitutions are violated, is criminal. Ballot harvesting, vote tampering and denying access to poll watchers are all crimes. Many people, including the victims and perpetrators, believe that crimes were committed. People are angry, frustrated and disenfranchised.

Now I predict the cover-up will begin: The new government in Washington will do everything it can to cover up their crimes. We will soon see our rights denied. Freedom of speech and the right to peacefully assemble will be the first to go, and are already happening. What’s next, the right to petition, own guns, due process, equal justice, etc., etc.?
