With mail-in ballots being sent out to voters this month, it’s not too soon to suggest that Daryl Metcalfe, who has been “representing” District 12 in Harrisburg, is the best example I can think of someone who personifies what’s wrong with politics in the United States today. If you live in Adams, Cranberry or Middlesex townships, Evans City, Mars, Saxonburg or Valencia, Metcalfe has been your representative.
Here are some of his actions over the years:
• Metcalfe presided over his House State Government Committee with an iron fist, proudly stopping nearly all legislation written by Democrats from even getting a hearing, much less a vote; in his own words on his Facebook page, “I have made it my priority … to advance only winning Republican policies that promote liberty and freedom, protect hardworking taxpayers, and rein in excessive government.”
• Metcalfe gummed up the legislation that would have created a citizen panel to draw legislative districts, assuring continued gerrymandering.
• As the climate crisis continues to heat the planet, we find this on Metcalfe’s Facebook page: “I am proud to have earned a ZERO ranking on this year’s Pennsylvania ‘ENVIRONMENTAL SCORECARD’ which is compiled by several far left, environmental extremist organizations.”
In this day and age, we cannot continue to have someone who is so misogynistic, homophobic, racist and partisan representing the citizens of District 12. We need people in Harrisburg who will work “across the aisle” to move Pennsylvania forward. That’s not Daryl Metcalfe. Vote him out!
