Gun violence plagues our young people. White nationalists terrorize our neighbors. Discriminatory legislation belittles our LGBTQ citizens. Affordable access to housing, health care and education evades more and more families. Unfettered climate change menaces our very existence.

But have no fear! Our noble, elected officials have been hard at work, resolving the pressing dress code issue in Washington. I, for one, will sleep a little easier tonight knowing that hoodies and gym shorts are now acceptable attire in chambers. Kudos to our senators for another job “well done”!
