Congress could enact laws to solve our border and other problems, but it seems they would rather blame the president, so they can get more votes. Why would any politician solve any problem when it makes them millions in tax-free political donations?

Congress wants spending cuts because it costs more money to service our debt. Working people pay enough in taxes. Democrats wanted to raise tax revenues by closing tax loopholes for the very rich and for companies. That proposal got shot down. People and companies not paying their fair share of taxes adds hugely to our national debt.

My predictions: Social programs, roads and schools will get cuts. People will have to get a second job to make ends meet. All states will have to have a gas tax to pay for roads, bridges and police services. School taxes will go up. Get your wallets out, while corporations and the very rich get all the tax breaks and politicians enjoy tax-free political donations.

Do you actually think life is fair? We, once upon a time, had a modest plan to pay down our national debt.
