Regarding the article “Some members of Pa. delegation say Capitol security must increase after attack” (April 5, TribLIVE): Thanks to the civil unrest from last year’s riots (courtesy of Black Lives Matter and its Democratic supporters), police have been demonized. This is being experienced by citizens in uncivilized (third-world) countries — and now the U.S.A.!

“Defund the police” is the stupidest thing I have heard in my 70-something years on this earth. The damage is done; I predict we will be living in a lawless society, Sodom and Gomorrah for sure. The media seems to be a big supporter of demonizing police, spending much of their air time showing their ignorance and disrespect for our law enforcers.

I support law enforcement everywhere. Without these patriotic, brave men and women, we would not be able to enjoy all the freedoms of living in the greatest country in the world.

Defund the police? Get real and grow up. Congress, I’m talking to you also.
