Letter to the editor: Democrats’ end game is their ‘social justice’

For who knows how long, our country will be run by a single party with a leadership that espouses conspiracies, divisiveness, greed and a lust for power. I believe their path to power is paved by racism, and they will play that card at every opportunity.

Their end game is to reimagine our basic governing institutions with social justice policies that they determine to be best for us, fact and any religious concern be damned. There is a world of difference from “let’s make America great again” to “let’s change America,” and President Trump is gone. The swamp is still there. I don’t know that there is another political outsider willing to take on the political establishment the way he did. His appeal was that he was for Dick and Jane and against the elites. He governed for a four-year term in a climate of open hostility, yet was able to accomplish a lot.

As for Dick and Jane, what are we to do? To paraphrase a verse from a country-western song that seems appropriate, “do you remember when you walked among men? Well, Jesus, you know if you’re looking below, it’s worse now than then. There’s hating and suffering, and it’s clouding our minds. So Lord for our sake, teach us to take one day at a time.”
