Letter to the editor: Democrats keep hating rather than uniting

Hate is a very evil thing. It can ruin a person’s mental and physical stability and even affect the soul.

It can also affect a country. For four years we watched and listened to the hatred that the Democratic leadership in Congress had for President Trump. One of President Biden’s promises was that he would unite the country. I must ask the question, then: Why is the Democratic leadership and the liberal press and social media still going after Trump and, it seems, anyone who voted for him? It’s hatred.

Don’t get me wrong — I believe the common ordinary people of the United States, regardless of their political affiliation, just want to have good jobs, enjoy life, raise their families and be free. But we continue to see hatred from the Democratic leadership, press and social media. In my opinion, they are willing to tell lies, misrepresent what people say or modify situations to suit their agenda.

As a simple example of what I am trying to point out, during Trump’s second impeachment trial, the Democratic leadership wanted to call witnesses of the Jan. 6 riots in Washington. That is, until Trump’s lawyers stated that they would call House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Democratic leaders then pulled back on the idea of witnesses. Gee, I wonder why?
