Does the Democratic Party stand for anything except hatred for America and its citizens? If you don’t believe that, then why did the Democrats remain seated during the State of the Union speech when President Trump challenged them to stand up if they believed it is all elected legislators’ first duty to protect U.S. citizens? Only two or three Democrats, including Sen. John Fetterman, stood up. The rest clearly showed me that protecting U.S. citizens is not their duty.

Two local Congress members, Reps. Chris Deluzio and Summer Lee, both Democrats from Allegheny County, are profound supporters of the Democrats’ government shutdowns which strip U.S. citizens of protection provided by TSA, FEMA, DHS and other law enforcement agencies, and they constantly work to strip Trump of emergency powers to wage war against our country’s enemies. Yet both of these Democrats enjoy taxpayer-funded personal protection, including armed protection, while they work to take away protections for normal, law-abiding, tax-paying citizens.

I understand that Democratic lawmakers have the right to voice their anti-American opinions ad nauseam, but they do not have the right to strip the rest of us of our constitutional right to be protected from our enemies, foreign or domestic. In my opinion, this is not only hypocrisy, it is treason, and I hope all voters will remember this issue in future elections.
