Letter to the editor: Democrats should think twice about Biden

The election for our next president is coming fast and, like it or not, the presumptive candidates are Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Therein, for the Democrats, lies a big problem: Joe Biden.

He doesn’t appear to be the Biden we remember from his years as vice president, but an older, frailer shadow of himself. He stumbles with words and dates, seems to get angry easily, and appears forgetful. Is this really the candidate to put forward for the rest of the world to see? Are Democrats so rabid to get Trump out of the White House that they are willing to risk putting their candidate in, regardless of these problems?

I took care of not one but two relatives with Alzheimer’s disease and a father with mild dementia. I am not saying he has either, but Biden is a concern. Democrats should think twice about electing someone who may just call a world leader a “lying dog-faced pony soldier” (as he did to a young voter at a campaign event in February).
