Letter to the editor: Demonizing all Democrats as 'evil' is wrong
Regarding the letter “Democrats have become party of evil” (Sept 20, TribLive): I think it’s wrong to make a generalization on an entire class/group of people, regardless of their political affiliations. We know that’s not true. It’s like saying if you’re a doctor of color, you had to be a DEI hire, and I’ll have to find one who looks like me to treat me.
I used to be a Republican, but I changed parties because they didn’t align with my beliefs. While I still agree with some Republican principles, I disagree with more.
We’re all supposed to be Americans first. Hate never solves anything. I believe in our Constitution, and when you say an entire class is “evil,” it says more about you than the people you’re trying to demonize. If you felt it necessary to have your feelings published, that is your right, but never expect your comments to go unanswered.
