In his letter “False portrayals of fascism” (April 21, TribLIVE), Joel Last, in my opinion, portrays fascism falsely, but this time shows his cards. Dinesh D’Souza, really? The far right-wing provocateur and QAnon-minded felon who saw vast material rewards in the new fringe conservative media?

D’Souza is universally rejected by the scholarly and intellectual world, and it seems to burn in him, fueling self-hatred that spurs him to sow distrust, confusion and division with crazy aspersions and blatant lies. Princeton University’s Kevin Kruse (a Republican) has posted via Twitter an informative point-by-point refutation of D’Souza’s twisted portrayal of history.

Reading and taking D’Souza as anything close to the truth or reality explains Last’s unfortunate confusion and naivete. I, along with the majority of intelligent minds, choose the Oxford dictionary, the gold standard of our language
