I’m a student who is very unhappy with the current state of our country. It is difficult to understand how something so simple can be so difficult for some people to do.
Political affiliations aside, it is absolutely not difficult to refrain from attacking our own government officials. A woman and a police officer were killed on Jan. 6 in the U.S. Capitol because people are refusing to abide by the basic foundations of democracy.
Fraud has been proven to be a baseless claim. But today it seems that many people could be told that the sky is yellow, and I have no doubt that they would go outside to investigate, with many even insisting that the sky had never been blue in the first place.
How is it possible that citizens of the land of the free, blessed with the ability to vote, are turning against one another because their candidate did not win? Countries around the world are no doubt trying to figure this out as well.
