I have become very saddened and disheartened by the behavior of the Norwin School District’s school board president. As a concerned mother of three kids in our district, I have emailed our superintendent concerns about the asynchronous learning the school wants to put into place instead of bringing our kids back five days. I received an email back from the board president that I felt showed me no courtesy or respect and was on the verge of bullying.

The president stated he is recommending that the superintendent does not respond to my concerns because he has a district to move forward during a pandemic. I was also told we need our superintendent to stay on track and not be distracted on a daily basis with parents who simply want to flood his inbox. He accused me of thinking that this is “humorous.” I assure you, sir, I find nothing humorous about this situation when your decisions are negatively affecting my children daily.

I feel that our school board has never taken the time to listen to the concerns of the community it is supposed to represent.
