In the article “Senate deal on border and Ukraine at risk of collapse as Trump calls it ‘meaningless’” (Jan. 25, TribLive), we see that there was a compromise deal on border security and aid to Ukraine funding reached in the Senate, and Donald Trump intervened to sink it simply because it was supported by President Biden. As usual, Trump cared more about himself than he cared about doing anything about the situation at the border. He sees stopping this bill as a win-win situation for him. He doesn’t want Biden to look good and he doesn’t want to stop the takeover of Ukraine by his buddy Putin.

Playing politics with national and international security is a sign of weakness and lack of consideration for the people of the nation and of the world.
