Letter to the editor: Domestic drilling would ease our gas pains

Just as gas prices started to recede somewhat (albeit slowly), we now see they are rising again. Why? Because Saudi Arabia, in coordination with Russia and other oil-producing nations (OPEC), decided to cut oil production by 2 million barrels a day.

For Russia, higher gas prices could help them finance the war on Ukraine. Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman sees higher gas prces as a direct snub to President Biden’s begging bowl diplomacy. You just know that the crown prince has to view Biden as an idiot.

Oil analysts say the U.S. has 100-150, some say 200 years of oil underneath our soil. Yet despite this, Biden goes begging for oil from the Saudis, Russia and Venezuela.

The most effective way to keep gas prices from rising is to increase domestic oil drilling like under President Trump. But Biden remains stubbornly opposed to domestic drilling.

2024 can’t come soon enough. But Biden has two more years left in office — two more years to do even more damage to our economy.

We survived Jimmy Carter. We survived Barack Obama. We nay not survive Joe Biden.
