“My body, my choice!” is the sentiment Republicans and conservatives shouted when they were asked to wear a mask in public. Yet when a woman wants to assert dominion over her own reproductive rights with the same chant, Republicans and conservatives tell her “NO!” Which is why it is absolutely essential for anyone who cares about their rights to get out and vote. These people and their ilk win when the rest of us become complacent.

Right now, the Supreme Court is considering overturning Roe v. Wade. A law was considered settled for decades, but now is not because Republicans and conservatives want to impose their authoritarian views on our society, and curb our freedoms that they find offensive.

And it won’t stop there. Once they achieve that goal, they will be coming for you over other things. If you’re gay, maybe they’ll put you back in the closet. Don’t practice Christianity? Well, you better start. Are you poor? Guess what, you’re staying that way.

But this can be fought against if you stand up, make your voice heard and vote. Don’t let them take your rights away and force you to live in their bleak society.
