Letter to the editor: Don't vote for radical Franklin Regional board candidates

Tribune-Review

I appreciated the position statements of candidates for Franklin Regional School Board (“Candidates vie for 6 seats on Franklin Regional School Board,” May 3, TribLIVE). It is clear that residents should remove candidates Deb Bucciero and John Fallat from consideration.

We do not need Buccerio’s moral arbitration, nor should we rely on whatever her definition of “Judeo-Christian” morality is. Her response illustrates that she doesn’t understand the position she is running for and will use the post to further the interests of only the most narrow group of partisan residents.

Furthermore, I do not wish to see Franklin Regional schools subjected to the imbecilic fantasies of Fallat. Governance of a school district is serious business, and we cannot afford to have that work derailed as Fallat flails about in his efforts to uncover “CRT” or rogue transpeople or whatever the latest boogeyman happens to be. Look to the Norwin School Board to see the harm such candidates can bring once elected.

Franklin Regional is a superb district offering wonderful educational opportunities. We must avoid exposing it to two unserious radicals seeking to role-play the culture war buffoonery that they choose to immerse themselves in. I sincerely hope that a majority of my fellow residents feel the same.
