Letter to the editor: Easy to see where we're headed with Trump
The letter “Rantings about Trump” (May 15, TribLive) mentioned “deep personal hatred” for President Trump. The hatred is for what he and his propaganda minister Steven Miller are doing to our country and democracy.
Let’s talk about rantings.
I will stop the war in Ukraine and conflict in Israel in 24 hours. I will lower food prices, gas prices, rent and housing on Day One.
It is estimated that 13 million people will lose their health care with his “Big Beautiful Bill.”
He does not want to abide by Supreme Court rulings. He will not rule out using military force to take over Greenland and wants to make Canada the 51st state.
In my opinion, he is destroying the economy the world was envious over, thanks to President Biden.
I think Trump’s Cabinet picks are all jokes. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth let the enemy know what time planes were coming over. Attorney General Pam Bondi is going after people he doesn’t like.
He wants to take out the parts of the Constitution he doesn’t agree with.
Other countries will pay the tariffs, not the American consumer, he says, noting that children can have “two dolls instead of 30.”
He accepted a $400 million plane from Qatar. The Constitution’s Emoluments Clauses state that federal officials cannot accept gifts from foreign governments; I guess they don’t count for him.
The letter states that we should give him time. If you can’t see where this is headed, you must live in a cave. Do you wonder why people in all 50 states are staging anti-Trump protests?
