Letter to the editor: Election autopsy would clear the air

What’s the rush? We have had four years of investigations. Three (at least) on Russia. One impeachment. Probes on taxes, the FBI, foreign involvement, Department of Justice hearings, etc.

Now with “dead time” before the electors meet Dec. 14, there is a call to pack up and move on.

What is the fear here? That something detrimental will be found?

I was under the impression that many loved to dive into the facts. Didn’t people say that Russia interfered in the 2016 election? Let’s make sure they didn’t do it again.

The speaker of the House (technically) said something quite ridiculous the other day. As usual. “Joe Biden has a mandate!” A mandate after losing five to 10 seats in the House, no “blue wave” in the Senate (one seat) and a presidential election still unclear in some states?

Let’s investigate the election. Perhaps Biden did get a mandate. Perhaps hacking robbed him of 100 electoral votes and the Dems on three Senate seats and fewer losses in the House.

This is important. We should have an election autopsy that verifies the true outcome. If not, the next administration (either one) will start out in a hazy, hostile, unfair environment.
