Letter to the editor: Election cheating underway
Caught again, it looks like the Pennsylvania Republican Party doesn’t think it can win an election without cheating. According to reporting last month by Barton Gellman in The Atlantic, they have been coordinating a plan/plot with the Trump campaign to set aside the results of the presidential election and appoint electors to President Trump regardless of the outcome. As Gellman said in a Sept. 23 Q&A about his long article, “According to a legal adviser to Trump and three top Republican leaders in Pennsylvania, they are already discussing contingency plans to set aside the voting results by claiming the vote count is rigged. Republicans control the House and Senate in all six of the most contested swing states.”
This explains why Pennsylvania Republicans want to cut off the vote count on Nov. 3, knowing that it is impossible for all the millions of absentee ballots to be counted by the end of Election Day. It also explains why they are determined to put up as many barriers possible to keep people from voting.
It is time for Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro to open an investigation into this plot to determine if laws are being broken, and if this plot rises to the level of a conspiracy to overturn a legitimate election. It is quite obvious to me that Trump is doing what he does best — causing doubt in the democratic processes and Constitution of our country with the help of his Republican allies.
