Letter to the editor: Eliminating identity politics

Tribune-Review

The America I grew up in had a merit system. We were self-reliant and didn’t want handouts. I don’t care what color your skin, hair or eyes are because all lives matter equally. I expect a level playing field. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”

Example: When you audition for the Philadelphia Orchestra, it is done behind a black curtain and appearance doesn’t matter.

Goals:

• We reject all forms of racism including the elimination of race from all college and employment applications along with the tracking of race.

• Motivate the Supreme Court to rule on whether the 1965 affirmative action executive order and diversity tracking violate the 14th Amendment regarding equal treatment.

• Legislate to revoke nonprofit 501(c)(3) status for all race-based organizations.

• Greatly defund the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Census Bureau. America needs a merit system, not a quota system.

• Create awareness of racial bias and post on social media for civil discussion.

• End racial profiling by law enforcement.

• Make any derogatory mention of race illegal and subject to a small fine.

• Eliminate “race” questions on applications.

• Stop discrimination against Asian students.

• Promote fair, equal, beneficial treatment for all people. Promote values where people are not judged by the color of their skin, hair, eyes or other physical attributes.
