The City of Jeannette recently announced that they are no longer going to employ the police K-9 officers (“Jeannette shutters K-9 program as ‘cost prohibitive,’ ” July 25, TribLive). Details were not given, but the officers recently filed a lawsuit against the city for overtime pay. Prior to the lawsuit, there was no talk of getting rid of the K-9 units? Coincidence or not, it’s a bad look. Do better, Jeannette.
