The article “Borrowers disappointed with Supreme Court ruling striking down student loan relief” (June 30, TribLIVE) is full of left-wing emotionalism that omits many obvious and important facts.

Despite what President Biden says , there is no such thing as loan “forgiveness.” Others will pay the debt for people who chose to attend college, selected the majors they did and signed loan agreements. Why should I feel empathy for others who made decisions of their own volition?

Some of the loan “forgivees” attained degrees above the bachelor’s level, and statistics show that most of these individuals will earn far more over the span of their lifetimes than people who did not attend college. Where is the hard-luck story of the blue-collar guy or girl struggling to make ends meet while financially compensating others who make more money?

The student loan cancellation mantra is liberal elitism at its worst.

The Supreme Court does not make rules; it interprets constitutionality, which it correctly did in this case. Even Nancy Pelosi knew this Biden vote-buying scheme was unconstitutional.
